We've had quite a few good records released already...and it's only May.
We sat down and discussed what we thought were the best records of the year.
It shook out like this:
1. Homeland Insecurity - Flatland Cavalry
This was our hands down best record of the 2019, so far. Cleto's songwriting took a big jump forward on the band's sophomore release, which put this one head and shoulders above the field.
2. Hellbent - Randy Rogers Band
Is there anything more steady than a RRB release? You just know it'll be good, and this one definitely didn't disappoint.
3. Afterall - Rob Baird
If you're a fan of good songwriting and Americana music with a rock n roll edge, then this album is for you.
4. Old News - The Steel Woods
These dudes are certainly going to a be force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future. Southern Rock certainly isn't dead, y'all.
5. Ain't Nothin' to It - Cody Johnson
All the people calling CoJo a sellout just need to shut the hell up. This is one of Johnson's better releases and is set to possibly be one of the breakout records in all of country music. Good on CoJo for finding a larger audience.
Let us know what y'all think!
