Chris Shiflett Debuts Dave Cobb-Produced “The One You Go Home To”

I dig this one.

Chris Shiflett, lead guitarist of Foo Fighters and host of the Walking the Floor podcast, is set to release his next solo country record. Produced by super-producer Dave Cobb, Shiflett releases another promotional single from the upcoming project in “The One You Go Home To.”

An old school country tune, “The One You Go Home To” is a duet with country singer Elizabeth Cook. Shiflett says of collaborating with Cook, “I had interviewed Elizabeth for my podcast, Walking The Floor, and asked her afterwards if she would sing a duet with me on my record.  We got together with my buddy Aaron Raitiere when I was out in Nashville recording and wrote this one in the spirit of a Conway Twitty / Loretta Lynn type tune, but a little more fucked up and rough around the edges. We were going for an old-school honky-tonk duet type of feel, even to the point of singing together on the same mic when we recorded it.”

I'm looking forward to this one. Hard Lessons is set to drop on June 14th. Also, be sure to check out Shiflett's Walking the Floor podcast. It's definitely one of my favorites.
